Ecommerce, Eyewear & Optical
Eyewear & Optical Ecommerce Development in Dubai & the UAE
Eyewear is a fit-and-face product sold through a screen, and prescription lenses turn a simple purchase into a multi-step configuration with medical data attached. Most optical stores online solve neither and rely on the branch to close the sale.
We built JES Eyewear as a bilingual Shopify eyewear storefront with COD, Tabby and Tamara instalments. Virtual try-on plus a clear lens configurator is what lets an optical brand sell online without the customer visiting a store first.
What makes eyewear & optical different online
Every category has a small number of problems that decide whether the store works. Get these right and the rest is ordinary ecommerce. Get them wrong and no amount of design or advertising compensates.
- Frame fit and face-shape suitability that customers cannot judge from a photo
- Prescription lens configuration, index, coating, tint, progressive, inside a retail checkout
- Prescription data capture that is accurate and handled responsibly
- Pupillary distance measurement that most customers do not know
- Contact lens repeat orders with power, base curve and diameter per eye
- Return rates driven by frames that simply do not suit the wearer
How we build it
We start from your catalogue and your operations rather than from a theme. The structure of the data decides what the store can do, so that is where the work begins.
What we deliver
Built for how eyewear & optical is actually bought.
Catalogue and data
Virtual try-on using the camera, with frame width matched to face measurements
- Face-shape guidance and frame recommendations based on it
- Step-by-step lens configurator covering index, coatings, tint and progressive options
Buying experience
Prescription upload or manual entry with validation of plausible values
- Guided pupillary distance measurement tool
- Contact lens reordering with per-eye parameters and replenishment reminders
Operations and growth
Home try-on programme with a selection of frames shipped for trial
- Bilingual Arabic/English catalogue with COD, Tabby and Tamara at checkout
How it runs
From brief to trading.
The same sequence on every build, because the order is what keeps the cost down.
- Step 01
Diagnostic
We look at your catalogue, your margins, your fulfilment and your current store if you have one. The output is a scope with the commercial case stated, not a feature list.
- Step 02
Structure
Catalogue architecture, attributes and variant logic. In eyewear & optical this is the decision that determines what the store can do for the next three years.
- Step 03
Build
Storefront, checkout, payment and courier integration, and the connections to your ERP or POS so stock and pricing stay true.
- Step 04
Launch and grow
We launch when it can trade, not when every feature is complete, then run merchandising, CRO and performance marketing against revenue.
Integrations
Connected to the stack you already run.

Why Globosoft
Reasons that are checkable.
Growth model
We would rather be paid for the growth than the hours.
For ecommerce clients we can work on growth-share: an agreed baseline from your trailing performance, then a percentage of the incremental sales we create above it. No fixed retainer. If your revenue does not grow, we do not earn. It changes what we recommend, because we carry part of the risk of being wrong.
Questions
Questions about eyewear & optical ecommerce.
Can customers order prescription glasses online?
Yes. We build a lens configurator covering index, coatings, tint and progressive options, with prescription upload or guided manual entry and validation of the values entered.
Does virtual try-on actually work?
It works well when combined with real frame measurements, we match frame width to the customer's face measurements rather than just overlaying an image, which is what makes the recommendation trustworthy.
Do you support COD for eyewear?
Yes. COD remains important in the UAE and Saudi markets, and we build it alongside Tabby and Tamara instalments.

Watches
Watch buyers research obsessively. Movement type, case dimensions, water resistance, lug width, power reserve, these are not nice-to-have specifications, they are the entire basis of the purchase decision, and a store that treats them as description text loses to one that treats them as data.
Read onAbaya & Modest Fashion
Modest fashion has its own sizing language. Abayas are chosen by length and cut rather than dress size, kaftans and jalabiyas follow occasion logic, and a large share of demand is made-to-measure, none of which a standard fashion template handles.
Read onJewellery
Selling jewellery online is not selling a product with a fixed price. Gold moves daily, making charges differ by design, stone weight is certified separately, and a single ring can exist in six sizes and three metal colours. A generic store template treats all of that as one SKU and quietly breaks your margins.
